The sound – also designed by the Ai and us – was conceived similarly, we fed basic parameters to a sequencer from today and programmed 30-year-old machines to give us the results.

This video by Amsterdam-based artist and filmmaker Rogier van der Zwaag is the result of spending months in his studio, trying to sculpture shapes out of smoke. He found that vaporizers made for the perfect shaping tool. He didn’t start with a finished plan. While he was compositing the images that he recorded, a choreographed storm started to appear. For him, an audiovisual composition works as soon he keep replaying the video endlessly without having a single thought.
